Standby option disabled after reinstalling windows xp pro?

i reinstalled my xp pro on my dell inspiron 1000. now the standby button when “turn off computer” is grayed out. i installed the audio, bios, and utility drivers.

also there no standby or hibernate tool under the power option in control panel. i use standby a lot on the computer. if someone could help me it’d be greatly appreciated. i will give best answer. hope someone can help me. Thanks in advance
