TOOLS TO GET THE JOB DONE WOW

TOOLS TO GET THE JOB DONE WOW
What would be the best “crossover” vehicle for my needs?

I am used to driving a pickup, but am tired of the lousy gas mileage, and I only rarely use it as a truck anyway. But I do need something that can hual stuff (not 12 ft. lumber) from Lowes or Home Depot on those occassions. I also like to haul around some my tools (it comes in handy from time to time). I drive about 40 miles (round trip) to and from work. Even though the roads around here don’t get iced up very often, I still need a vehicle with solid traction when it does occur (because of my job). I also would like to able tow a small utility trailer (rated around 1000 lbs, I think).

In conclusion, I would say that gas mileage, utility, and reliability are probably the biggest factors. Good looks and “wow” factors would be a plus, but certainly not huge on my radar . . .

GMC Acadia and all of its sister vehicles (i think the GMC is the best looking one, but you decide).

It can tow a 1k lbs trailer, and with 4×4, it’ll have good traction in bad weather conditions. There’s 4 real doors and more space than in the FJ Cruiser, it’ll have better gas mileage than it. I suggest you took a look at the GMC. The Toyota will be a bit more reliable, but neither’s a real bomb.
