BRAKE JOB TOOLS

I want to do a brake job on my 2004 Toyota Tacoma. What problems might I have.?
I have replaced break pads amd shoes in the past but it has been a few years sense I did it. I have tools or can get any that I would need. Any one have any tips for me? The truck has 55000 miles on it. Someone out there helped me a few weeks ago with my e-break light staying on. The fluid was low. Can that person help me with this?
Hello, I have a 2002 Tacoma V6 dbl cab. I replaced my front pads about a year ago. It was pretty straight forward if you have some basic knowledge on changing rotor pads. You do have to carefully remove this wire frame that holds the pads together in the caliper then you can remove the pads next you need to compress the caliper piston all the way to put in the new pads. If your fluid reservoir is low this is probably an indication that your pads were really worn. Replace fluid to indication marks after inserting new pads in caliper and bolting it back up to the rotor mount. It would be a good idea to bleed the calipers to extract any air bubbles that have accumulated in your brake lines. This will insure maximum brake force and effectiveness. If you’re working alone you can purchase a self-bleeding hand pump to extract the air from the lines or ask a buddy to carefully pump the brakes to properly bleed the fluid until all air is removed and only fresh new fluid is coming out. Finally make sure everything is properly tightened to torque specs if available. Reassemble and you should be good to drive!
